Tarot deck with unconventional cards

Post by Martie »

Need some help here: I have a deck with extra cards (e.g. two lovers, two versions of every king). How do I number the cards for use in Orphalese? Pick a card and ignore the other one? Or name them from 00 up to whatever, even though cards won't have the traditional numbering, e.g. King of Pentacles won't be 77 as usual?

HI, I think you have two options here, deciding what works for you, Choose one of each card and normally number then as normal, or you could customize the deck overall, adding in the extra cards where you would like to. I think this is something you have to decide what to do for self.

Hi Martie, Just to add, there should be no problem numbering the cards up to 155 to incorporate them all into the deck, the program should still function normally. You would have to use two digit format for the cards up to 99 and then three digit format from then on.

You can then use the Edit Card Notes tool to give the right names to the cards above 77. I don't think that field has to be unique, so there would be no problem in naming two cards "King".

Another option would be to keep the decks separate and then load them up side by side, but then of course they will behave like separate decks so this probably isn't what you need.

This (previous) seems to be the last post made on this forum by "programmer" ... is Orphalese still active?
